WESLEY FIRST NATION

Peace Hills Trust manages its trusts services from its office located in Edmonton, Alberta. Georgina Villeneuve, Senior Executive VP – Trust Services, will be the key individual to lead your team due to her experience and expertise in First Nation trust issues, administration, taxation, and investments.

Georgina earned an undergraduate degree in professional studies from the University of Hawaii, then went on to complete her degree in commerce from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the University of Regina. She obtained her Member Trust Institute (MTI) designation through the Institute of Canadian Bankers.

Georgina is one of the very few who holds her Member in Trust Institute. The MTI designation requires an extensive study of trust law and taxation. During her career, Georgina has seen over 260 First Nation Trusts and has consulted with the Indigenous Bar, and Canadian and Australian governments.

Georgina successfully completed the AFOA Harvard Business School program – Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities. She prides herself on developing strong governance documents supported by proven communication strategies. Georgina has written numerous governance-papers.

During Georgina’s career she has administered over 260 trusts and written over 40 trusts. On top of her work on a vast number of trusts she has amended 13 trusts successfully. Georgina likes to say she knows the good, the bad and the ugly of trust models, administration, and investment.

Georgina believes in giving back to Nations. Georgina has donated her time and expertise to AFOA and NATOA to write Estate course for members both on and off reserve.

Jacob joined the Peace Hills Trust Team in 2021 bringing a wealth of experience obtained from his tenure as Chief Operations Officer at The Emerald Flower Farm (TEFF). With a robust background in financial management and legal administration, Jacob is an esteemed and valued member of our organization.

Chantelle joins Peace Hills with an extensive background and diverse portfolio of marketing and entrepreneurial skills. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, well invested in the arts, culture and tourism industry, Chantelle enhanced her upbringing and passions with a formal education in Management & Marketing from the University of Lethbridge.

Jeff has extensive First Nation experience, having worked with First Nations for over 30 years. He has been an investment manager with First Nation clients for over 10 years. Prior to that, Jeff was a partner at Ridgewood Capital Asset Management for five years and was a Vice President at its predecessor firm, Mulvihill Wealth Management for five years. Jeff holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA).

Brian joined the team in 2024 as Associate Vice President Investment Performance & Compliance. Brian joined PHT from Scotia Mcleod where he led the research and trading function for a one-billion-dollar discretionary book. Brian worked as an accountant for seven years prior to working at the bank. He holds both CFA and CPA charters and is most excited about making a difference in the lives of over 38,000 minors across the country.

Ryan brings a new dynamic to the team with years of entrepreneurial experience. Ryan holds a B.Comm from the University of Alberta, with a double major in finance and accounting. He passed the educational requirements for the CFA designation and is currently working on amassing the hours to attain his charter. Ryan is excited to learn from many mentors at Peace Hills.

Over the past 12 years Doreen has revamped the department to ensure that modern systems and processes are implement so that each Nation is provided value added services.

Katherine takes great pride in her accuracy while tracking and accounting for our many Indigenous clients. Katherine is completing her NATOA Level I before starting her Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM).

Jennifer is a new member to the PHT team and brings in-depth accounting & Anti Money Laundering (AML) experience.

Chris manages our 8-person custody team to ensure the Nation’s investments are safe and secure.
